Serving Melbourne
Finding the right driving instructor is not just about price; it is about finding someone who teaches you to drive for life, not just for the test.
At Punjab Driving School, we’ve been doing exactly that since 2012. With over 1,200 Melbourne students passed and a 99%+ first-attempt success rate, our approach is simple — patient instruction, test-proven routes, and a lesson plan that fits your life.
Whether you’re a nervous beginner, a busy professional who needs weekend lessons, an international driver converting your overseas licence, or a learner who needs targeted test preparation — we have a structured program built for you.
All lessons are conducted across every Melbourne suburb, 7 days a week, in modern dual-control vehicles by fully licensed, VicRoads-certified instructors.

Every learner comes to us at a different stage and with a different goal. That’s why we offer six dedicated programs, each structured to address a specific learning need — not a one-size-fits-all syllabus.
Learning in an automatic is the most popular choice for Melbourne drivers. Without the stress of clutch control, you can focus entirely on observation, road positioning, and building confident driving habits from day one.
A manual licence gives you more flexibility on the road. Our instructors break down clutch control, gear sequencing, and hill starts into clear, manageable steps so the learning curve never feels overwhelming.
Need your licence quickly? Our intensive course condenses weeks of standard lessons into a focused, high-frequency schedule. Not a crash course — a structured rapid-progression program with clear milestones at every stage.
One of the most common reasons people fail VicRoads is not poor driving — it’s nerves. Our mock test lessons simulate the real VicRoads test experience so you know exactly what to expect on the day.
Hold an overseas licence and been in Victoria for more than 6 months? Our conversion program helps you adapt to Victorian road rules, left-hand traffic, and local test expectations quickly and confidently.
Learning to drive as an adult or returning after a difficult experience takes patience and reassurance. Our nervous learner program is designed to rebuild your confidence gently and at your own pace.
Punjab Driving School provides professional driving lessons across all Melbourne suburbs, delivered by VicRoads-certified, DHS-checked instructors. Offering automatic, manual, intensive, mock test, overseas conversion, and nervous-learner programs, our driving lessons are available 7 days a week.
There are many driving schools in Melbourne. Here’s what sets us apart — not just in words, but in the results our students achieve every week.
Every lesson runs in a dual-control vehicle. Your instructor can intervene instantly, giving you and your family complete peace of mind.
Our instructors know Melbourne’s roads deeply — CBD hook turns, tram zone protocols, complex roundabouts, freeway merges. No surprises on test day.
We offer lessons in English, Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu. Understanding every instruction clearly is non-negotiable when you’re learning to drive.
Our structured, test-proven curriculum means you arrive at VicRoads ready, not just hoping. We only book your test when we’re confident you’ll pass.
Early mornings, evenings, weekends — we fit around your schedule, not the other way around. Bookings available across all Melbourne suburbs.
Clear, upfront pricing. No lock-in contracts. No fuel levies, no cancellation traps. What you see on our packages page is exactly what you pay.
Yes, every automatic vehicle in our fleet is fitted with dual controls, allowing your instructor to brake or steer if needed. This is the safest way for beginners to build confidence on Melbourne roads, particularly on busy arterials like Sydney Road, Plenty Road, and the Western Ring Road. Dual-control vehicles are also required for learner drivers under Victorian road rules when accompanied by a driving instructor.
Absolutely. We offer flexible booking slots 7 days a week, including Saturday and Sunday mornings, and evening sessions up to 8 pm. This makes us a popular choice for students and working professionals who can’t commit to weekday lessons. To complete your 120-hour learner logbook and get your P plates, consistent practice matters, and our weekend availability makes that easy.
Our intensive course is a condensed, high-frequency lesson schedule designed to fast-track your progress without cutting corners on safety. It includes consecutive daily lessons, targeted skill sessions based on your current level, specific VicRoads test route practice, and a final mock test session. It’s ideal for learners who have completed their 120 hours and want to test within weeks, not months.
During a mock test lesson, your instructor acts as the VicRoads examiner, following the actual test route from your nominated test centre, scoring you against the official criteria, and delivering a detailed debrief at the end. Most students are surprised by what they discover: small habits that would cause an immediate fail on test day. One or two mock sessions before your actual test significantly improve both your score and your nerves.
There’s no single answer; it depends on your starting experience, lesson frequency, and how consistently you practise between sessions. On average, our students take 10–15 professional lessons alongside their 120 logged hours of supervised driving. After your first lesson, your instructor will give you an honest assessment and recommend a lesson plan. We never push you to test before you’re ready.
Yes, many of our instructors are fluent in Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu, in addition to English. If you’d prefer lessons in your first language, just mention it when booking and we’ll match you with a suitable instructor. This is particularly valuable for recently arrived residents from India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka who are more comfortable learning driving terminology in their native language.
We service all Melbourne suburbs, with particularly strong coverage across the north and west — including Broadmeadows, Craigieburn, Glenroy, Bundoora, Sunshine, St Albans, Coolaroo, Fawkner, Meadow Heights, Deer Park, Roxburgh Park, and Epping. Your instructor picks you up directly from your address. If you are unsure whether we cover your suburb, call us on 0488 805 555 or check the suburb list on our Service Areas page.
